FAQ Friday #36 – My boat cover is generally in good condition but rather grubby and a bit mouldy, should I get a new one?

Not necessarily! If your boat cover is, on the whole, still in good condition then a professional wash and rewaterproof might be the way to go and will be a much cheaper option that a new well made, bespoke made cover too.

If your all over boat cover or console covers are generally rather grimy, green from algae or black from mildew, it’s well worth getting them professionally laundered before installing it over your boat. After all, there’s no point installing a grubby, mouldy cover over your nice clean RIB tubes.

How it works:

  1. Weigh your cover
  2. Select and purchase the required service.
  3. Send your cover to us or alternatively drop it to us in Plympton.
  4. Your cover is sent for cleaning / re-waterproofing as per your requirements - collections are fortnightly on Fridays.
  5. Two weeks later, we receive your cover back.
  6. Optional: Now that your cover is clean, if repairs are required, we can assist.
  7. Your now clean and dry cover is sent back to you or we notify you that it's ready for collection.

This is a winter service, with fortnightly collections – just check out the Boat Cover Washing and Rewaterproofing page for the collection dates.

We hope this will be another valuable service to help you keep your boat safe, clean and ready for action!
